Spirulina Boost in Pasta Salad

Spirulina is a blue-green algae that contains 70 % of protein. It is also a source of B vitamins, especially B12 and pro-vitamin A (beta carotene), and minerals, especially iron. In several small studies, spirulina was found to have antioxidant properties, to give protection from viruses, and to inhibit the growth of multi-resistant bacteria.

Antioxidants are certain nutrients, such as vitamins C or E, or carotenoids, which may help protect cells against daily damage.

Ingredients:

  • Gluten-free pasta with spirulina, uncooked 100 g

I use the brand: Pasta Natura Organic

OR else use wholegrain, edamame or lentil pasta and add 1/2 tsp. of spirulina powder (edamame and lentil pasta are naturally gluten-free)

  • Olive oil, 1 tbsp.

  • (Lactose-free) feta cheese, crumbled, 50 g

  • Capers, 1 tbsp.

  • Arugula, 1 handful

  • Basil and mint leaves, 1 few

  • (Lemon juice, 1 tbsp.)

  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

Cook the pasta until al dente, then drain and cool it. Toss the pasta with olive oil and chlorella powder. Mix in crumbled feta, capers, and rucola. Add torn basil and mint leaves. Give everything a final toss, then serve.

Bon appétit! ❤️
